So we shot another wedding that wasn’t ruined by rain. Oh, it rained, but the rain didn’t ruin the wedding. Grandview was gorgeous and the couple got married and ate dinner outside! There may have been six bites left on the plates of the last guests through the buffet line, when the skies opened up and cooled everyone off.

Jeremy and Liz were calm and happy for a respite from the mugginess. The rain actually added some excitement to the evening as we all ran for cover. The wonderful staff at Grandview as always was ready to switch to “inside mode” at the first drop. It was delightful to work with this wonderful couple and their families! It’s also fun to have two different atmospheres (sunny and blue skies vs. rainy) in the pictures. Despite the change in scenery, it was all the same, flawless event.

Rain! There was so much rain this last Saturday. This wedding was supposed to be at the sculpture garden of the Bluff View Art District, but that was not meant to be. Sure, their plans changed, but this couple took it all in stride. When you look at their pictures, you’ll only see joy and happiness. Things go differently than we plan, and hey, you can’t predict a major storm front. Gavin and Megan couldn’t have been more surrounded by loved ones, couldn’t have been more at ease and couldn’t have been any happier to be getting married.

And the staff at Niko’s on the Southside was also a team of folks ready for a quick change! They didn’t know they’d be hosting a wedding, but they were ready at a moment’s notice (and this requires a great staff and superb organization). They were there to make the day special and they handled every soaked down person and prop with the greatest “we’re here for you” brand of customer service. We highly recommend this venue.

This was a fabulous wedding. You can see in many of these non-posed shots that these folks were there for a wedding, rain or shine. Turns out, you better mean it!
